Mahmood Samandarian was born in Isfahan, Iran in 1964. Mahmood has been interested in painting since his childhood. He studied at The School of Fine Arts of Isfahan and graduated as a bachelor of Art in 1989 from “Tehran fine Art University “and went on to do his MFA in 1998 at the same university. Finally he achieved his first grade of art certificate in 2013. His preferredmedia is watercolor and now he is teaching at university as well as in his own studio. He is fascinated to real life and high contrast space as a subject in watercolor. Another of his interests lies in abstract painting using mix media which tries to show dreamy and metaphysics atmosphere. He also published a watercolor paintings book in 2006, and a Student Art Reference Book, published in 1990 by Educational Administrative. He served as jury in art festivals and was awarded the first prize in the national exhibition of Tehran art festival in 1992. He received the second place in the competition “Iranian Painting Biennial Award “in 1993 as well as the Palestine Art Museum Award in 2007. He has been part of more than 170 group exhibitions and 25 national and internatinal solo exhiobitions. Mahmood Samandarian also has his own teaching program in national TV channels and also offers workshops with his ownteaching methods.
